John Parker & Son are one of the largest Steel stockholders in the South East of England. In 2005 they approached Charter for assistance in developing a marketing and business strategy for their engineering products distribution division.
Following initial desk research, Charter conducted extensive primary research with both existing customer groups and potential target groups in new markets identified through the former.
The recommended business strategy included expansion of an existing branch network together with introduction of a dedicated national account team. Charter then worked closely with the client helping them implement the plan including assisting with the recruitment and development of key sales and marketing personnel.
Since the successful inception of the business strategy, Charter has continued to provide ongoing support to the leadership team and the national accounts team through a series of management development workshops specifically designed to support the implementation of the business strategy.
Charter assistance enabled Parkers to maintain their position as one of the largest producers in the South East of England.
