Charter was asked to assist the Blaenavon project, a major tourist attraction that represents 4 key tourist sites in South Wales.
The local traders were failing to capitalise on the opportunities emerging from the number of tourists visiting the town and looking to the local authority to provide funding for all initiatives.
Charter recognised the strength of the local heritage in Blaenavon and quickly worked to put in place key steps to provide one to one mentoring with 20 town centre traders to provide bespoke support for each of them and to unify into a group who organised a number of successful events in the town centre, including a wedding fayre, Xmas market, Olde Time Music Hall and town centre treasure trail.
Through consultation with all key stakeholders, Charter developed a marketing strategy that all community members felt a part of.
Through the consultative workshops and mentoring, Charter was able to identify key development issues that heavily impacted the success of the Blaenavon project.
